On the right we have a screenshot of the mixing process of the track "Dazed". As you can see the track features drums. guitar, bass and vocals. All of the instruments were recorded one take. The vocals however were done in multiple takes which I then went on to comp.
Here we have the mixer screen of the track "Dazed". This shows the final levels of all the instruments. You can also see the effects used on the individual channels and how I used colour coding and busses to tidy up the screen to make my work more efficient. The only effect that is not made visible on this mixer is the WAH effect I used at the guitar solo. Where its placed under the guitar pedals section.
In the next picture we can see the mixing process and final edit of the opening track "True Colours" Yet again everything is colour coded to make mixing more efficient. Like in "Dazed" I had to comp the vocals in order to complete them. I also did this with the lead guitar part during the break down and final solo. Just to be safe I got the best take I could get.
In this picture we have a screenshot of the mixer during the mixing process. In this screenshot we can see all the final levels of the track. Also all the effects used and how I went about equalising some of the channels. I only did equalisation on a few of the tracks as I felt that they did not all need equalising. For the example the channel that recorded the snare was already perfect and the snare sounded great. However it did take a little while to automate the volumes on this track as I found the volume of the singer and the consistency of the drumming was not as consistent as they could of been. However after working on it, i managed to get the levels up to standard. As we can see reverb was used on all of the instruments this was done by sending the overall track reverb to a buss. I also sent all the drum parts to a buss in order to keep the levels equal
On the final track the apart from some automation due to background sound there wasn't much done producing and mixing wise done to the track. This was mostly because it was an acoustic track and only featured my guitar and Lucia's vocals.
As we can see from the mixer the effects placed on the guitar was very minimalistic and I only placed delay on it. As the guitar was not recorded through and amp and instead directly into Logic ProX i decided to use a Amplifier interface in attempt to get a more earthy real sound to it. I also had to EQ the vocalist greatly due to background noise and I had to place a noise gate on it as-well due to the same background noise.
